The best preschool for your child is in your own area. It is play-based and signed up with the state. You have met its trained teachers. And drop-off is safe. MNR Golden Kids runs seven centres across Panvel, from Playgroup to Senior KG.

Looking for the best preschools in Panvel? This guide will help you choose with care. It comes from the early years team at MNR Golden Kids. We run seven preschools across Panvel, and four more in Kamothe and Kalamboli.

Panvel has one of the oldest town councils in the state. It dates back to 1852. Today, the city is growing fast. A new airport, in Panvel taluka, opened in December 2025. For parents, that means more schools to choose from, and more reason to compare them well.

Panvel at a glance for parents

  • One city body, many areas. The Panvel Municipal Corporation was set up in October 2016. It covers old Panvel town, the CIDCO nodes of New Panvel, Kamothe, Kalamboli, Kharghar and Taloja, and 29 villages.
  • New nodes next door. Karanjade and Ulwe were not part of it when it was set up. But they sit right beside it and share its roads and schools.
  • A new airport close by. Navi Mumbai International Airport, in Panvel taluka, began flights on 25 December 2025.

Busy roads such as the Mumbai-Goa Highway and the Panvel-Uran Road split Panvel into parts. A school on your side of the road means a short, safe drop-off. To a 3-year-old, that matters more than any fancy toy.

Whether you search for a play school or a nursery school in Panvel, the same checks apply.

Best preschools in Panvel, area by area

New Panvel and Koproli

New Panvel is a planned CIDCO node with many sectors. It has a wide mix of local preschools and big brands such as EuroKids. Compare schools sector by sector. Crossing the whole node at school time adds up.

MNR Golden Kids here: G-20, Royal Meadows, Koproli, New Panvel. Call 8451800705.

Old Panvel and Takka

Old Panvel is the old heart of the city. If a school is on a main road, check that the gate opens onto a safe side. Ask how they manage drop-off at the busiest time.

MNR Golden Kids here: G-19, Pankaj Pride, Thana Naka Road, Old Panvel (7718856113), and G-12, National Regency, Takka (7718856112).

Karanjade and Pushpak Node

Karanjade is one of the newer CIDCO nodes beside Panvel. If you live across the Panvel-Uran Road, ask about the safest route. Ask if the school has a van with a trained helper.

MNR Golden Kids here: G-21, Bhaveshwar Park, Sector 5, Karanjade (7718856114), and G-30, Plot 228, Sector R4, Pushpak Node on the Panvel-Uran Road (9321076399).

Kon and Palaspe

In a township like Indiabulls Greens in Kon, a school inside the complex lets kids walk to class. Ask how visitors sign in. Ask if kids from outside the township can join. On the Mumbai-Goa Highway at Palaspe, check how the school keeps drop-off away from the traffic.

MNR Golden Kids here: G-27, Indiabulls Greens, Building 14G (Podium), Sector 5, Kon (8451800708), and G-22, Palaspe, Mumbai-Goa Highway (8451894777).

Kamothe and Kalamboli

The same city body runs these nodes. We have four more centres there. See our guide to finding a preschool in Navi Mumbai.

How we run our preschools in Panvel

Here is how our own team does it. You can use the same points to judge any school on your list.

  • We track growth every month. Each child’s teacher notes how they are doing, month by month.
  • We train for safety. Our staff repeat child safety training every two years.
  • We train our teachers. Our teachers are trained by the London School of Training, UK.
  • We teach through play. Kids learn to speak through stories, rhymes, show-and-tell and puppet play.
  • We start slowly. New children join with an orientation and a gentle settling-in time.

What a good preschool morning looks like

Ask every school you visit to walk you through a normal day. A good three-hour nursery morning often looks like this. Times differ by school and class.

Time What happens What your child learns
9:00 Hello, then free play Settling in, doing things alone
9:20 Circle time: songs, rhymes, the day and the weather Listening, words, routine
9:45 Theme time: a story, puppets or show-and-tell New words, confidence
10:15 Hand-washing and snack Self-care
10:35 Outdoor or movement play Body skills, sharing, taking turns
11:05 Art, puzzles, first numbers or letters Hand skills, early maths and reading
11:40 Story and goodbye song A calm end to the day

Be careful if the day is mostly desk work. And be careful if 3-year-olds write for a long time. India’s National Curriculum Framework for the Foundational Stage says kids aged 3 to 8 learn best through play.

A two-week plan to help your child settle

Most kids take two to four weeks to settle into preschool. This plan makes the first days easier.

Before the first day

  • Visit the school together, while a class is on
  • Practise the morning routine for a week: wake-up, breakfast, shoes, bag
  • Read picture books about school, and talk about it in a happy way
  • Put your child’s name on the bag, the bottle and a spare set of clothes
  • Pack a small toy from home, if the school allows it

Week one

  • Start with shorter days if the school allows it
  • Keep goodbyes short and warm, and always say you will come back
  • Let the same person do drop-off each day

Week two

  • Move to the full day
  • Ask the teacher for a quick update: is your child eating, playing and joining in?

Is your child still very upset after three or four weeks? Or not eating or sleeping well? Then talk to the class teacher about what happens in the day.

Preschool fees in Panvel: what to ask

Most big brands do not post their fees online. Each centre sets its own. So ask every school for one written fee sheet. It should list:

  • The joining fee, and any deposit you get back
  • The monthly or term fee
  • Meals, books, kits and uniforms
  • Van fees and daycare hours
  • Event, trip and late pick-up fees

Add it all up for the first year, and compare that total. Ask if fees go up each year, and by how much. A higher fee does not always mean better care.

Preschool admission in Panvel for 2027-28

Maharashtra uses your child’s age on 31 December of the school year. For 2027-28:

  • Playgroup: each school sets its own age; MNR Golden Kids takes kids from 2 years
  • Nursery: at least 3 by 31 December 2027, so usually born in 2024
  • Junior KG: at least 4, so usually born in 2023
  • Senior KG: at least 5, so usually born in 2022

Keep these ready: your child’s birth certificate, address proof, vaccine record and a parent ID. Most schools take calls from September to December. They confirm seats by February. So October is a good month to start your visits.

All private preschools for kids aged 3 to 6 must also sign up on Maharashtra’s Pre-School Registration Portal. Ask about it on your visit.
